Sheila Ellsworth Burlingame

gouache drawing
5 x 10 1/2 and 4 x 10 inches $ 750.
this drawing of “woman’s work” was evidently a study for a fresco above an arch of an unknown building, possibly in her native St. Louis. Burlingame studied at the Art Institute of Chicao and Art Students League of NY. She was a member of the St. Louis Artists’ Guld. Much of her sculpture is in St. Louis. This drawing suggests Puvis de Chavannes, but have a Modernist’s use of color.
