Henry Moore (British Abstract Sculptor 1898 - 1986)
Etching, 9 5/8 x 10 1/4 inches. Plate IV, Edition of 100. Signed and numbered by the artist in pencil in the plate.
From Moore’s Elephant Skull Album (1969) this work is part of a series of etchings inspired by the skull of an African elephant. Moore studied the skull intensely which led to a number of graphic works that explored the spaces and contours of the skull. These works were published as an album in 1970 by Gérald Cramer.
